Heal Lady Macbeth

 Healing Lady Macbeth

Healing Lady Macbeth/

The work is inspired by one of the classics of classics, namely Macbeth by William Shakespeare and the reinterpretation of the Argentine writer Griselda Gambaro Señora Macbeth. In this adaptation, the focus is on the infamous character of Lady Macbeth.

Through this rereading, Mariana Araoz sheds light on what she considers to be the true face of Lady Macbeth. A much more complex character than the one who simply incited her husband to commit regicide out of greed for power. Certainly, the show defends a completely different version of the facts. For Mariana Araoz, it is the reception of Macbeth's letter by the Lady, announcing her meeting with the “witches” (which Araoz will call the healers) whose oracle predicts her reign. This letter will act as poison. Macbeth, understanding only what he wants from the prediction, will seal his wife's fate. Since then, Lady Macbeth will be responsible for this crime, will not obtain the power monopolized by her husband and will die in the latter's indifference.
